name: Marilyn

age: 24

favorite female writers/poets with themes of madness? Charlotte Bronte, Emily Bronte, Sylvia Plath

favorite books on madness? Wuthering Heights, The madwoman in the attic, books by Amelie Nothomb, Nadja by Breton, Hamlet, Cat's eye by Atwood

favorite films which document or hint at "women & madness"? the Hours, The virgin suicides, Adele H., Camille Claudel, Jules et Jim, Requiem for a dream

I also love the preRaphealite Ophelia paintings, especially the one by John Everett Millais. The ones about The Lady of Shalott are also quite haunting.

I'm currently working on the theme of female neurosis in the two french films 'Camille Claudel' and 'Adele H'. Has anyone seen these films by any chance?

Hey someone else who's read The Madwoman In The Attic! I really enjoyed that book so much.
